Symposium and Reference Room

Designing for Dignity: A Convening of Possibilities is an annual hybrid in-person and virtual symposium and reference room at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA). The symposium explored the guiding premise of dignity as the intrinsic lens for liberatory design practices with two days of presentations and conversations. Taking place at both the museum and throughout the city of Chicago, the symposium included interactive workshops and on-site experiences. Moving Sidewalk partnered with Deem and the MCA on executive production, day-of event production, and programming. Additionally, the Reference Room was created to provide a public gathering space and curated to help inform ongoing conversations.
